Welcome to the final day of Five Fall Favorites 2025! This has been such a fun week talking about books with you, and I hope that your booklist has grown!
Today, I’ll be sharing five of the books I’ve read and loved in 2025. Please note that while I enjoyed each of these books, my listing them here does not mean that I agree with everything in them. Oh, and this is my second time participating in FFF, and I tried not to repeat any books I chose the first time, with one exception on Wednesday’s post.
I’m so glad you’ve come back for the last day of the party, and I hope you enjoy today’s post!
Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.

1. Fiery Failure by Hannah E. Griggs

An unqualified team. A challenging HELP adventure. Is this the end? The Hardings are settling into a routine with their family ministry HELP when they realize they have forgotten something important. They have been failing to share the Gospel with the people they are helping. Jobs outside their skill level leave them wondering if they are really qualified for all that HELP involves.
While temporarily distracting themselves from the problems they’re facing due to their inexperience, the Harding children stumble upon a mysterious person in a ghost town, arousing their curiosity. But in the back of their minds a nagging question lurks. Is HELP going to end a failure?
It was so exciting for my sister to release her third book in the HELP series this year! I thoroughly enjoyed the continuation of the series and seeing the Hardings in action and their previous experiences making an impact on others. The ghost town part of the story is so fun too! And as usual, the family met a lot of interesting people along the way.
2. Mrs. Oswald Chambers by Michelle Ule
Among Christian devotional works, My Utmost for His Highest stands head and shoulders above the rest, with more than 13 million copies sold. But most readers have no idea that Oswald Chambers’s most famous work was not published until ten years after his death.
The remarkable person behind its compilation and publication was his wife, Biddy. And her story of living her utmost for God’s highest is one without parallel.

This was a fascinating biography! I didn’t know much about the lives of the Chambers, and I really enjoyed hearing about how she spent the rest of her life sharing her husband’s teaching after he died. She had written down his lectures in shorthand and spent decades turning the notes into books.
3. Jacob Deshazer by Janet and Geoff Benge

Three thousand feet above China, it was Jake’s turn to jump. One of the famous Doolittle Raiders who first attacked Japan after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Jacob DeShazer knew this one-way mission was dangerous. Indeed, it led to his capture as a prisoner of war. Beaten, malnourished, and alone in his cell, Jacob was given a Bible – and far away from home, this American soldier became a Christian.
After the war, Jacob returned to japan and served his former enemy for thirty years as a missionary. His testimony of forgiveness and reconciliation – of love over hate – inspires a powerful gospel message for our lives today.
This is another biography that I thoroughly enjoyed this year. My mom, sister, and I listened to the audiobook, and sometimes it was hard to stop because it was so exciting and we wanted to know what came next. It’s quite a powerful story of forgiveness.
4. In the Family Way by Sarah Beth Brazytis
The Westovers are back! For Dane and Margaret’s lively household of brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, the summer of 1891 is a busy one.
With Dane now sheriff of two communities, his days are already full; but he and his deputies – his brothers Shem and David – are stretched even thinner by challenges at home, needy townsfolk, and a string of mysterious railroad robberies. Soon every member of the house on Harmony Street must join in to help – in the family way.

Yes, I’m including another book from the Harmony street series. That should give you an idea how much I enjoyed the books. Those books were definitely some of my most enjoyable reading moments this year, and this one might almost be my favorite of the three.
5. Wherever He Leads by Rebekah A. Morris

Is this all the plan God has in store? Kylie Zeller hasn’t done much with her life since college, unless you count babysitting, house-sitting, and a job that’s easier described than named. So when an old friend fresh from medical school and Switzerland turns up while she’s waiting for her sister’s new baby, his appearance sparks both fond memories and budding regrets for everything she’s missed out on.
With her latest project drawing to a close, Kylie attempts to look to the future, but her plans seem blocked at every turn. Can she learn to trust God’s timing even when His answer is “wait”? Can Mitch help her see that His path for her life may stretch beyond what she can imagine?
This was another great read I enjoyed this year. It’s always fun to have a new Rebekah Morris book, and this one was no exception. The relationship between the two sisters was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed watching the relationship between Mitch and Kylie grow. And the large family with Kylie’s almost-brothers was great. It was a lot of everyday life with great relationships, one of my favorite kinds of stories!

Are you ready to continue the party? There are a lot more books being recommended today! If you’d like to find links to guide you to all of the participating blogs, you can do that at Kate’s blog, where she is co-hosting FFF. And please check out the other blogs on my team and see what books they’re recommending! I’ll be joining you over there.
Let’s Chat!
Have you read any of the books I mentioned in today’s post? Was there one that you think you’d like to read?
Until next time, keep trusting in the Lord and letting Him direct your steps!
In Christ,
Bethany
